“Angie Shows Up Tour” Coming to Northern Colorado Cities This Week

The tour’s title highlights Marilyn Musgrave’s lack of attention to the district she represents.

FORT COLLINS—State Rep. Angie Paccione, candidate for Congress in the Fourth Congressional District, will be hosting town hall meetings in Longmont, Loveland, Greeley and Fort Collins on September 13 and 14 on the first leg of her “Angie Shows Up Tour” (see details below).

The title of the tour, “Angie Shows Up,” highlights the fact that Paccione’s opponent, Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, seldom visits the cities and towns within the district that she represents.

“Marilyn spends too much time caving in to the special interests and not enough time paying attention to her district,” Paccione said.

When Musgrave does visit—holding election-year, taxpayer-funded campaign events disguised as official hearings and congressional town hall meetings—the events are heavily scripted and any questions are required to be written down and screened by her staffers.

“If Marilyn gets a challenging question, her chief of staff and campaign manager Guy Short will toss them in the trash,” Paccione said. “On the ‘Angie Shows Up Tour,’ citizens can ask me face to face about anything they want. That’s what principled leadership is all about: showing up, listening to the people you represent, and giving them honest, straightforward answers, not dodging their questions.”

Paccione will be available briefly before and after the town hall meetings for individual interviews. The public is also invited to attend.
