EMILYs List Announces Endorsement of Angie Paccione

WASHINGTON, D.C.—EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest grassroots political network and financial resource for women running for elective office, today announced its endorsement of Angie Paccione in her bid for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District.

“Angie Paccione is an accomplished public leader and professional educator,” said Ellen R. Malcolm, president of EMILY’s List. “As a congresswoman, she will help bring accountability and responsibility back to the federal government. Colorado deserves new leadership that will put working families first in Washington. EMILY’s List will devote its significant energy to ensuring Angie Paccione’s victory.”

Paccione, who is biracial, has been remarkably successful in her endeavors as a professional athlete, educator and elected public official. She has traveled on humanitarian missions as a Christian basketball player, worked with troubled youth at a treatment facility and currently serves in the state legislature, and was chair of the Democratic Majority Caucus.

Paccione’s legislative work has focused on increasing opportunities for young people, businesses, seniors, and the most vulnerable members of society. Paccione continues to be an effective champion for education issues while also pushing for improvements in healthcare, job growth and training, consumer protections, and for a cost-conscious government that is more responsive and less invasive.

“I am proud to have earned the support of the thousands of individual women and men who are members of EMILY’s List,” said Paccione. “It is time for real change in Congress right now. The people of Colorado deserve principled leadership that will stand up to the special interests and powerful politicians.”

With more than 100,000 members, including over 2,500 in Colorado, EMILY’s List is the largest political action committee in the nation. Since its founding in 1985, EMILY’s List has helped elect 61 pro-choice Democratic women to the U.S. House, 11 to the U.S. Senate, and eight governors. In only ten election cycles, EMILY’s List has helped elect hundreds of pro-choice Democratic women to federal office, state legislatures, state constitutional offices and other key local offices.
